GIRLS TOUR - CELEBRATING OUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY
Philly Girls Golf, celebrating our 10th Anniversary, returns to its’ roots. Philly Girls Golf began in 2002 as the Philly
Girls Tour. The mission of founder
Cheryl Fox, and co-director Jane Cousounis, is the same today as it was 10
years ago – to provide an affordable golf program to Philadelphia regional girls,
with the opportunity to gain competitive experience and socialize in a friendly
and encouraging environment.
It was our observation 10 years ago, that although most courses
touted 1 or 2 fine junior girl players, few courses, if any, had the depth of female
players to offer a rewarding social network for their junior girls. From this observation came our vision to
bring together the finest female junior golfers in the Philadelphia region, to
meet and compete on the Philly Girls Tour.
Over the past 10 years, Philly Girls Golf has expanded to
include Philly Girls Golf Swing Clinics and the Philly Girls Golf Developmental
Tour, offering a program from first swing to collegiate golf. In our 11th year, we have enjoyed
watching our youngest players mature in their golf skills, and move on to high
school and collegiate golf, many with scholarships. We even have alumni who have played on, or
visions of the LPGA Tour. We hope they
remember us!
Our decision to return to our roots was the result of our
desire to attract more players to the Philly Girls Tour, by offering an incredibly
affordable program, with maximum program flexibility, on fine area courses. In 2012, junior girls will have the
flexibility to register for the Philly Girls Tour 6 tournament series, or participate
in individual Philly Girls Tour tournaments. Either way, at $100 for the 6
tournament series with NO additional entry fees, or $40 per individual event
with NO membership fee, it’s a great deal. And since the Girls Tour is a relatively small tour, many fine area courses
will generously open their doors to host us. We invite you to come and play on YOUR tour! The Philly Girls Tour is as STRONG as you
make it!
